JOE STONE
Hi, I'm Joe Stone, Pacific Northwest based multi-media consultant.
Following a long career in the US Army, I studied Communications and Media Technology at the Academy of Art University with the goal of becoming involved in media production.
In 2019, straight out of university, I became a founding member of Jam Street Media alongside iHeartMedia's Matty Staudt. While Matty focused on production and talent, I turned my attention to Audience Development and technology, developing all websites, social channels, podcasts feeds, and setup and maintained anything related to operations. Basically anything not related to production.
In two short years, we were acquired by newly founded Amaze Media Labs. With our combined talents, over the next 3 years we became a powerhouse in the branded podcast space, publishing over 60 podcasts from Fortune 1000 companies. Outside of podcast distribution and analytics, my time was spent running company operations.
In 2024, the podcasting industry slowed considerably, and Amaze needed to slim down and I was let go.
With the state of the podcast industry at the time, I made a pivot into local government where I now spend time verifying recorded records, researching property history, and assisting the public.
While the new new job is interesting (and stable), I would LOVE to get back into the podcasting industry if the right opportunity presented itself. (Got a lead?)
Prior to podcasting, my experiences included various technical, analytical, and managerial roles in both the private and public sector. I regularly volunteer my multimedia production skills for non-profit organizations in my local area.
